Disclaimer. These textual-variant footnotes were machine-coded in Excel and human spot-checked, not individually verified by multiple Greek scholars. In 2026, our coding cleaned up to be more English-like using AIs vs. spending a year plus doing it as each one was checked. If you find one that's wrong, here's how to tell us.
We don't need "such and such said" or "I believe." We are the judge and jury on what is final. The MLV only exists because a new convert found an "indoctrination" put into his newly bought Bible version. We built a computer-enforced, strictly non-paraphrased translation specifically so no single person's theology could quietly bend the English away from the Greek — including ours. That standard applies here too.
What we will look at
- The specific manuscript siglum(s) involved (RP, Q, N, WH, Treg, TR, B, V, Z, S, Holmes, etc.)
- The actual Greek word(s) in question — copy/paste them if you can
- Why the footnote's English doesn't match the Greek reading it claims to represent
- A reference to a Greek lexicon, grammar, or the manuscript apparatus itself
What we will not act on
- "This contradicts what my pastor/denomination/study Bible teaches"
- "This doesn't fit the doctrine of ___"
- Preferences for a theological system, translation tradition, or wording you're used to, offered without a textual or grammatical basis
- Long doctrinal arguments with no Greek in them
If your email is about what the Bible should mean rather than what the Greek text actually says, it isn't a textual correction — it's a theological disagreement, and this isn't the channel for it. We'll say so briefly and move on. This isn't a slight against your convictions; it's the same rule that built the MLV in the first place, and it applies to everyone, including us.
How to submit
[Insert submission email/form here.]
Please include:
- Book, chapter, verse
- The Greek word(s) and manuscript siglum(s) in question
- Your proposed correction and the textual/grammatical basis for it
We read every submission that meets the above. We don't reply to every one.
