Acts 3

1 Now Peter and John were going-up at the same time into the temple at the hour of prayer, the ninth hour {i.e. 3:00 PM} . 2 And a certain man, being* lame from his mother's womb, was being bore there, whom they were laying daily at the door of the temple which is called* Beautiful, to ask charity from those who travel into the temple. 3 Having seen Peter and John being about to go into the temple, he asked them for charity. 4 But Peter, together with John, having stared toward him, said, Look toward us. 5 Now he was taking-heed of them, expecting to receive something from them. 6 But Peter said, I do not possess silver and gold, but what I have, that I am giving to you. In the name of Jesus Christ from Nazareth, lift yourself up and walk! 7 And he clutched him by the right hand and lifted him up and instantly his feet and his ankles were strengthened. 8 And leaping up, he stood and was walking, and he entered together with them into the temple, walking and leaping and praising God. 9 And all the people saw him walking and praising God. 10 And they were recognizing him, that this one was sitting to obtain charity at the Beautiful Gate of the temple, and they were filled with amazement and astonishment at what has befallen him.
11 Now the lame man who was healed, was holding-fast to Peter and John, then all the people ran together to them on the porch which is called Solomon's utterly amazed. 12 Now having seen them, Peter answered to the people, Men, Israelites! Why are you* marveling over this one? Or why are you* staring at us, as though by our own power or godliness* we have made* him able to walk? 13 The God of Abraham and of Isaac and of Jacob, the God of our fathers, has glorified his young-servant Jesus; whom you* indeed gave up and denied him in the face of Pilate, after he decided to release that man. 14 But you* denied the Holy and Righteous One and asked for a murderer to be granted to you*, 15 and killed the Author of life; whom God raised up from the dead; of whom we are witnesses. 16 And upon the faith of his name, this one whom you* are viewing and know, his name strengthened him. And the faith which is through him gave him this wholeness of body in front of all of you*. 17 And I know now brethren that you* did it according to ignorance, just-like also did your* rulers. 18 But what God proclaimed beforehand through the mouth of all the prophets, that the Christ was to suffer, he thus fulfilled. 19 Therefore, repent* and turn* again, *that* your* sins may be wiped-away, that seasons of refreshment may come from the presence of the Lord; 20 and that he may send Christ Jesus who has been assigned to you*; 21 whom it is indeed essential for the heaven to accept till the times of restoration of all things, of which God spoke through the mouth of all his holy prophets from the age past. 22 Moses indeed said to the fathers, The Lord our God will rise* up for you* a prophet from among your* brethren, like me. You* will listen to him according to all things, as many things as he may speak to you*. {Deu 18:18, 19} 23 And it will be, that every soul if it does not listen to that prophet, will be utterly destroyed from among the people. 24 But even all the prophets from Samuel and those who followed afterwards, as many as spoke, also proclaimed of these days. 25 You* are the sons of the prophets and of the covenant* which God covenanted with our fathers, saying to Abraham, 'And all the families of the earth will be blessed in your seed. ' {Gen 22:18, 26:4, 28:14} 26 God, having raised* up his young-servant Jesus, sent him to you* first, blessing you* in turning each of you* away from your* wickednesses.
