English Concordance Entry

Definition: The (definite article) occurs in Greek same as in English with one major exception: ‘the’ is used with proper nouns. ‘Paul’ is literally ‘the Paul.’ We render ‘the’ in all places where English allows. The inspired writers could have left ‘the’ out and it still would have been good Greek grammar, but they didn't. 32 times ‘the faith’ was rendered ‘faith’ only in the KJV, newer translations even more so. That is doctrinally dangerous! G3588.

The, a, an

'The' represents the Greek definitive article, same as English. 'A, An' have always been supplied words in ALL Translations. A fact many have wanted to hide from you. "A god" in Jn 1:1 for example. Too many to list and no real value in word studies.
