MLV/Definition: cross*, {NOUN}
{SEE G3586} (A pointed standing stake (post) embedded in the ground. The second part was carried by the soon to be victim in which he was stretched out and nailed to in the wrist area between the all the bones. This top part was hoisted up (person hanging by the nails) and attached to the embedded post. It forms a “ T “ or “t” shape. Then the person’s feet were attached by nails with just enough slack he could lift himself up (to breath; as his lungs fill full of fluid) but could not lift off the top part. It was a form of execution perfected over 200 years. This form of execution was only for the “non-citizens.” A tree could be carved up in a pitch; hence the synonym.)
