Modern Literal Version

[Philippians 4]

4:1 So-then my brethren, beloved and longed-for, my joy and crown, so stand-firmĎ in the Lord, my beloved.

4:2 I am encouraging Euodia, and I am encouraging Syntyche, both to be mindful of the same thing in the Lord. 4:3 Yes, I am also requesting you, genuine colleague, help these women, who contended together with me in the good-news, also with Clement, and the rest of my fellow workers, whose names are in the Book of Life.

4:4 RejoiceĎ in the Lord always. Again I will say, RejoiceĎ. 4:5 Let yourĎ gentleness be known to all men. The Lord is near. 4:6 BeĎ anxious in nothing, but in everything, let yourĎ requests be made known to God by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving. 4:7 And the peace of God, which is superior to all perception, will be guarding yourĎ hearts and yourĎ minds in Christ Jesus.

4:8 Furthermore brethren, as many things as are true, as many as are honorable, as many as arerighteous, as many as are pure, as many as are lovely, as many as have good-repute; if there isany virtue and if there is any praise, reasonĎon these things. 4:9 The things which youĎ both learned and received and heard and saw in me, practiceĎ these things, and the God of peace will be with youĎ.

4:10 But I rejoice in the Lord greatly, that now at last, youĎ have bloomed again the desire to be mindful of things on my behalf; in which, youĎ were even mindful of me, but youĎ had no opportunity. 4:11 Not that I am speaking according to my lack of things; for* I have learned inwhat things I am to be content. 4:12 I know how to be also humbled; I also know how to also abound. I have been initiated in everything, and in all things, both to be fed and to be hungry, both to abound and to lack. 4:13 I am strong in all things in the Christ, who is empowering me.

4:14 However youĎ did well, having shared together with my affliction. 4:15 Now youĎ also know, youĎ Philippians, that in the beginning of the good-news, when I went out from Macedonia, no congregation* shared with me in the word {I.e. matter. Or: speech. Or: The Word} of the giving and receiving, except youĎ only. 4:16 Because even in Thessalonica, youĎ sent once andthen twice to my need. 4:17 Not that I am seeking after the present, but I am seeking after the fruit that increases to yourĎ account. 4:18 But I have all things, and I am abounding. I have been filled, having accepted from Epaphroditus the things which came from youĎ, an aroma of a sweet-fragrance, an acceptable sacrifice, well pleasing to God. 4:19 Now my God will be filling every need of yoursĎ according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus. 4:20 Now to our God and Father isthe glory forevermore. Amen.

4:21 GreetĎ every holy-one in Christ Jesus. The brethren who are together with me greet youĎ.4:22 All the holy-ones greet youĎ, especially those who are from Caesar's household.

4:23 The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ is with all of youĎ. Amen.
