Modern Literal Version
2 Thessalonians 1]

     1:1 Paul and Silvanus and Timothy, to the congregation* of the Thessalonians in God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ: 1:2 grace to youĎ and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

     1:3 Brethren, we always ought to thank God concerning youĎ, just-as it is worthy, because yourĎ faith is growing substantially, and the love* of each one of youĎ all toward one another is increasing; 1:4 so-that we ourselves boast in youĎ in the congregations* of God, on behalf of yourĎendurance and faith in all yourĎ persecutions, and in the afflictions which youĎ are tolerating. 1:5This is an example of the righteous judgment of God; *that* youĎ may be deemed worthy of the kingdom of God, on behalf of which youĎ are also suffering; 1:6 if indeed*it is a righteous thing with God to repay affliction to those who are afflicting youĎ; 1:7 and to youĎ who are afflicted with us, a rest at the revelation of the Lord Jesus from heaven with the messengers of his power, 1:8giving vengeance in a fire of flame {i.e. in flaming fire} to those who do not know God and to those who are not obeying* the good-news of our Lord Jesus Christ, 1:9 who will be suffering-punishment, the sentence of everlasting utter-destruction away from the face of the Lord, and away from the glory of his strength, 1:10 whenever he may come to be glorified in his holy-ones, and to be marveled at in that day in all those who have believed, (because our testimony to youĎwas believed). {1Th 4:13-17}

     1:11*For which, we are also always praying concerning youĎ, in order that our God might deem youĎ worthy of yourĎ calling, and might fulfill every delight of goodness, and every work of faith in power, 1:12*that the name of our Lord Jesus Christ might be glorified in youĎ, and youĎ in him, according to the grace of our God and the Lord Jesus Christ.
