Modern Literal Version
1 Peter 1]

1:1 Peter, an apostle of Jesus Christ, to the chosen who are travelers from the dispersion from Pontus, Galatia, Cappadocia, Asia and Bithyna, 1:2 according to the foreknowledge of God theFather, in the holiness of the Spirit, to obedience and sprinkling of the blood of Jesus Christ: grace to youĎ and may peace be multiplied.

1:3 The God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ is gracious*, who according to his much mercy has born us again into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, 1:4 into an incorruptible, undefiled and unfading inheritance having been guarded in the heavens *for youĎ; 1:5 who are kept through faith in the power of God, into a salvation ready to be revealed in the last time. 1:6 In which hope youĎ are glad now for a few moments, if it is essential, youĎ have been made sorrowful in various tests, 1:7 in order that the trial of yourĎ faith, (beingmuch more precious than gold, which perishes), even now being tested through fire, may be found *for praise and honor and to glory in the revelation of Jesus Christ.

1:8 YouĎ love* whom youĎ have not seen {Or: known}; now youĎ believe in whom youĎ do not see; in both youĎ are glad with unspeakable and glorified joy; 1:9 getting for yourselves the end of yourĎ faith, that is the salvation of yourĎ souls. 1:10 Concerning which salvation the prophets, who prophesied concerning the favor that would come to youĎ, sought out and utterly searched out; 1:11searching what time or what sort of time the Spirit of Christ in them was indicating, whentestifying beforehand of the sufferings *for Christ and the glories following after these things. 1:12To whom it was revealed, that they were serving these things not to themselves, but to youĎ; which things now have been reported to youĎ through those who proclaimed the good-news to youĎ in the Holy Spirit, when* he was sent forth from heaven; into which things messengers desire to peer into.

1:13 Hence when* youĎ have girded up the loins of yourĎ mind, while being sober, hopeĎcompletely upon the grace being brought to youĎ at the revelation of Jesus Christ; 1:14 like children of obedience not fashioning yourselves in yourĎ former lusts in the time of yourĎignorance; 1:15 but according to he who called youĎ, who is holy, youĎ yourselves also becomeĎholy in all yourĎ conduct; 1:16 because it has been written, 'BecomeĎ holy, because I am holy.' {Lev 11:44-45, 19:2, 20:7,26}1:17 And if youĎ call upon the Father, who impartially judges according to the work of each one, conductĎ yourselves in fear during the time of yourĎ foreign residencyhere; 1:18 knowing that youĎ were redeemed from yourĎ futile conduct handed down from yourĎforefathers not with corruptible things like with silver or with gold. 1:19 But like that of an unblemished and unstained lamb, you were redeemed by the precious blood of Christ, 1:20 who indeed, having been known beforehand, before the conception of the world, but was manifested in the last times because of youĎ, 1:21 who believe through him in God. The God who raised himup from the dead and gave him glory; so-that yourĎ faith and hope might be in God. 1:22 Having purified yourĎ souls in the obedience to the truth through the Spirit toward non-pretended brotherly-love, intensely love one another from a clean heart; 1:23 having been born again, not out of corruptible seed, but from the incorruptible, through the word of God, which is living and remaining forever. 1:24 Because, 'All flesh is like grass and all the glory of man is like the flower of grass. The grass dried up and the its flower fell away. 1:25 But the declaration of the Lord is abiding forever.' {Isa 40:6-9} And this is the declaration of the good-news which was proclaimed to youĎ.
